Sadly, we all received news today that Maurice Sendak passed away. He was a beloved children's author and illustrator. It seems poetic to me that he would pass during Children's Book Week, as we celebrate all of the books that impacted us as children, and encourage the children in our lives to develop a great love for books.

Perhaps it's a good day to share one of Mr. Sendak's books with a favorite child in your life.
