The Mount Morris Library is closed today, Monday, February 17, in honor of President's Day. 

We will reopen tomorrow morning at 9 am. 

Preschool Story Time will start at 10:30 am, and we'll be talking about presidents! 

See you tomorrow!

Mark your calenders for Saturday, February 8th. We'll be celebrating Valentine's Day and Judy Blume! Festivities will begin at 1:30pm.

Meanwhile, if you're getting cabin fever with all this cold weather, come on down and warm up at the library. Pick up some books and movies to get you through the cold snap. If you want to thaw out, we have a wide selection of magazines and newspapers and plenty of comfy chairs and tables. Sit and browse until you're ready to face the cold again.

New Year's Even Information

Important information

to remember for 

New Year's Eve! 

Preschool Story Hour will go on as regularly scheduled. Mrs. Gall is hoping to see all of our regulars (and maybe a few guests?) at 10:30am.

We will have a New Year's Eve party for children of all ages starting at 1:30pm on Tuesday. Snacks will be provided. If you remember last year, we had a terrific time! Hope to see you all there.

Following the party, the library will be closing early. We will remain open until 5pm.

Thank you all for another wonderful year full of books and learning. The staff of the Mount Morris Library is looking forward to more great things in 2014!

National Game Day is almost here!

On Saturday, November 16th, Mount Morris Library will host game day. We will have stacks of games to choose from.

Play an old game or learn a new one!

Game Day will run from 11am til 3pm, and all ages are welcome.

Snacks will be provided.

Online Picture Books

Our preschool story time is held every Tuesday during the school year, at 10:30am. 

 

To hold you over between story time meetings, I found a great site that you might enjoy. It is called Storyline Online, and is a project of the Screen Actors Guild. It's a beautiful, bright site, where your kids can click on a picture book, and have it read by a celebrity. You can search by title, author or reader. Click on a book, and it opens a YouTube video within the page. Lots of books to choose from!

Calling all Young Authors!

This Saturday, April 6th, the Mount Morris Library will be hosting a kid's book writing event at 1pm. 

All children are welcome to come and work on their stories and prepare for the 2013 Young Authors and Storytellers Festival which will be held at SUNY Geneseo on April 27th. 

All kids in grades K-8 will then be able to register on Saturday for the free event on the 27th.

Looking forward to seeing what all of our kids come up with!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

On March 2, 

we will celebrate the birthday of 

Dr. Seuss! 

Please join us at the library at 1pm for Dr. Seuss crafts and stories.

If you can't make it here, take the time to celebrate at home with Read Across America. 

Simply put, take some time to read with your kids. Even older kids enjoy being read to! Share the love of reading, and set a good habit for life. ;o)

All week, we've had the kids take a moment to write a note about what they love at the library.  If you stop in, take a look at the bulletin board to see what they had to say. You can even leave a note yourself!

"I love going to story time with grandma."
