Summer Vacation Is Here!

So the first week of summer vacation is upon us! Have you started your summer reading yet? I always loved summer break, because that meant that for the next two months, I could read anything I wanted to, without worrying about passing a test afterward. ;o)

Book Discussion Kits

Were you aware that the OWWL system has book discussion kits? These are a wonderful resource for established Book Clubs and informal groups that enjoy a good discussion about literature. 

The kits contain anywhere from 6-12 copies of the book, and a discussion guide. Some also include an audio version of the book. There are book kits for all age groups and a wide variety of topics!

2009 Caldecott Medal Winner

The 2009 Caldecott Medal winner is The House in the Night, illustrated by Beth Krommes, written by Susan Marie Swanson (Houghton Mifflin Company).  This book is available at Mount Morris Library.

2009 Newbery Medal Winner

The 2009 Newbery Medal winner is The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman, illustrated by Dave McKean, and published by HarperCollins Children's Books.  This book is available at Mount Morris Library.
